With more residents and visitors comes increased demand on our infrastructure. More vehicles on the road mean more traffic congestion and accidents, along with heightened risks for pedestrians and cyclists. When streets are clogged, ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles may struggle to reach emergencies quickly—delays that can make the difference between life and death.

Public safety also depends on a strong, well-supported police force. Law enforcement is the cornerstone of a secure community, but population growth places additional strain on officers already tasked with protecting neighborhoods, responding to emergencies, and building trust with residents. It is City Council that holds the power to approve police budgets, directly shaping staffing levels, training opportunities, equipment, and overall effectiveness.
